The Romsdal museum in Molde

Krona 

Krona is open the whole year, but has extended opening hours during Summer.

Opening hours 2026:
06.01.-21.06.: Tuesday - Friday 11-16, Saturday-Sunday 12-16, closed Mondays
22.06.– 31.08.: Every day 11-16
01.09.-23.12.: Tuesday - Friday 11-16, Saturday-Sunday 12-16, closed Mondays
Christmas: 27., 28., 30.12.: 12-16

Here you will find:

  • The main exhibition "Stories of Romsdal". Well suited for children.
  • Temporary exhibitions.
  • Bunad studio making reconstructed costumes from the region
  • Café with good home made food
  • Museum shop

Tickets:

To enter the exhibitions you need to buy a ticket, either online or on site during opening hours.

When the open-air museum is open, the ticket is also valid there.

The open-air museum in Molde

One of the largest and most comprehensive folk museums in Norway is located only a 10 minutes' walk from the centre of Molde. 

17.05. Norway's national day: Leikarringen (children's folk dance group) performs at 12 noon. Kiosk with coffee and ice cream 11am-1.30pm. 

Opening hours 22.06.– 16.08.2026: 
Monday - Sunday 11:00 - 15:00

We have guides and many open houses. During the week of Moldejazz (13.-19.07.), we move our activities to the Town Street "Bygata".

On days with Cruise ships visiting Molde, we often adjust our opening hours. See information here: CRUISE

When the open-air museum is open, the ticket is also valid there.

Bud coastal museum

Open every day in the Summer season (22.06.– 16.08.2026).

Bud Coastal Museum contains the Ergan Coastal fort and the Coastal Culture Centre.

Nesset Rectory (Prestegard) in Eidsvåg

Discover the childhood home of the famous Norwegian writer Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson, who was awarded the Nobel Prize of Literature in 1903.

Small café and shop with local products.

Opening hours 27.06. - 16.08.2026:
Saturday - Sunday 11:00 - 15:00
Guided tours start 11:00, 12:00, 13:00 and 14:00

The Fisheries Museum on Hjertøya island

The idyllic island of Hjertøya is a great recreational area where you can fish, go on a picnic, walk along guided paths or swim in the sea. At the Fisheries Museum you can get an insight into local coastal culture.

Guided tours in the Summer period 14.06.-16.08.2026:

  • Every Saturday and Sunday at 12:15 and 15:15
  • Every day at 12:15 and 15:15 during the week of Moldejazz 13.-19.07.

The Clothing Factory Museum in Isfjorden

KonfeksjonsmuseetOddfred Tokles clothing factory (1938–1982) lets you experience the atmosphere from the clothing industry period of the 1960-ies

04.07. - 16.08.2026: Saturday and Sunday 11:00 - 15:00

Løvikremma coastal farm on the island of Aukra

Løvikremma coastal farm23.06.: Season opening 12:00-18:00
24.06.- 02.08.: Every day 12:00-16:00

Free entry to the buildings. You may buy coffee, tea, waffles and more. On Saturdays we also sell the traditional "rømmegrøt" (sour cream porridge).
